Development of various GOSTs in Russia is based on the 1995 Law of the Russian Federation on Standardization and is accomplished by the State Committee of the Russian Federation on Standardization and Metrology. Russian GOSTs apply to all materials, production activity and services relevant to two or more industries and are considered industry norms for all state bodies and entities conducting economic activity in Russia.
